about

Phoebe Winstanley, vocalist for The Ladies in the radiator, and her fiance who releases music under the name Workstuff, were inspired to cover the classic Bobby Vinton song 'Blue Velvet' due to the Lynchian themes surrounding Phoebe's art. Neither planned to create the track in one afternoon but that is how it panned out, and they were left with a surrealist piece exploring the male ego and how female musicians are often drowned out by men within music (and everyday life). The Ladies in the Radiator continuously explore themes of female trauma. We did not expect a Bobby Vinton cover to turn out with this narrative, but alas it did! We hope you enjoy.
Much love,
The Ladies x
